Best Bluetooth headphones for your smartwatch

With the rise of the Apple Watch and Android Wear smartwatches you can now carry your tunes on your wrist, but you’ll need a spiffing pair of wireless headphones to listen to them.

As smartwatches become less tethered to your smartphone, pairing them up with headphones makes more and more sense. The Apple Watch can already play music, track your exercise and even pay for things in your local store, so untethering is becoming more and more common. What’s more, going wireless is greta with your smartphone too.

We’ve rounded up the best Bluetooth headphones on the market to suit all budgets, so check out these wireless streaming beauties.

Edifier Extreme Connect Bluetooth Speaker Review

0

IMG_0020 copyI’ve tried my fair share of Bluetooth speakers over the last few years, and whilst some have been truly surprising, others have left a lot to be desired.  Edifier isn’t new to this end of the audio market, but with the Extreme Connect Bluetooth speaker, it has taken a stab at making a slab of audio for kids, party goers and those with a penchant for brightly coloured things.  Is it any good? Keep on reading to find out.

HTC BoomBass Speaker Review

0

IMG_0036 copyIn the words of The Fresh Prince, backed by DJ Jazzy Jeff, “Boom! shake-shake-shake the room, Tic-tic-tic-tic Boom!” And with that, I present to you an unusual smartphone accessory in the form of the HTC BoomBass.  It’s a Bluetooth speaker cube that pairs via NFC, and has a rather novel sliding base on which you can rest your smartphone. The curious part? It’s not a normal speaker. So if you own one of HTC’s One smartphones, keep reading…

Edifier Luna Eclipse Review

IMG_0057 copy

Edifier’s latest 2.0 speaker system comes in the form of the ‘Luna Eclipse’ set, which packs Bluetooth alongside a traditional 3.5mm input in a rather attractive package that from some angles could be mistaken for a space-dwelling craft, whilst delivering a build quality that rivals far more expensive brands.  Of course it’s not all about the looks; Edifier has to deliver something that sounds as good as it looks. Read on to see if it has.

Nude Audio ‘Move’ Bluetooth Speakers Review

0

IMG_0015 copy I admit it – I giggled like a child when I was offered the chance to look at the NudeAudio ‘MOVE’ Bluetooth speakers.  I presumed they’d be another set of speakers with more style rather than substance, though I’m happy to report I was largely surprised. There’s more than just a funky brand and lovely design at hand, so as the late Marvin Gaye would no doubt say… let’s get it on with the Nude MOVE in sizes medium and small.

Harman Kardon Bluetooth Headphones

0

IMG_4279 copyHarman Kardon are renowned for their unique designs, excellent design and Apple endorsement but up until now my only experience of their headphones were the AE earphones featured in our 2013 In-Ear Headphone group test. Their latest Bluetooth headphones are very similar to the wired CL headphones; clad in steel and leather but without the restrictive requirement of wires. Like most other quality Bluetooth headphones, they’re not particularly cheap, so can their sound and build quality match up to the renowned design? Read on to find out…

Edifier Bric Connect

0

IMG_4256 copyHaving taken a look at previous Edifier speakers I was keen to see what they could do with a bigger portable speaker than the Sound-To-Go I reviewed last time.  Edifier produce some nicely built products that sound great for the money and despite the Bric Connect not being a contender for the high-end portable speakers from Bose, there’s a hotly contested market out there consisting of a large number of Bluetooth speakers that the Bric Connect has to contend with.

Pebble Smartwatch Review

0

IMG_3571 copyAfter it’s record breaking $10M of funding on Kickstarter, it was evident that Pebble was coming in at just the right time to be relevant.  I knew I wanted a smartwatch the minute I started reading through the list of functions and the fact that it was made by like minded people that knew their product, their market and wanted to have a fully transparent process from start to finish. Yes, there are the likes of the Sony’s smart watches, but because they insist on going for glitzy colour screens, the battery-life is next to useless and they’ve put in nowhere near as much thought when it comes to designing a ‘life-proof’ watch.

Edifier Spinnaker speakers

0

Edifier_Spinnaker_e30_Two-620x496These aren’t the first speakers I’ve tested from Edifier, but present a much more high-end design quality audio solution than the Aurora 2.1 speaker set I tried previously.  The Spinnaker series could be a companion for TVs, computers as well as having Bluetooth capabilities for music streaming, but can their audio quality keep up with their imposing design? I’ve spent a couple of weeks with them to find out how they stack up.
