The Gadget Show Live @Christmas 2013

IMG_0132IT’S CHRISTMAS! Or at least it will be in less than two short months.  I’m not one for pre-empting the joys of the festive season and tend to avoid anything festive until mid-December, but a chance to play with some of the latest tech due to hit our shelves is an opportunity I’ll never pass up.  After visiting The Gadget Show Live at the NEC earlier in the year I was eager to see what the Earl’s Court London event would have in store.

Rezzed: The PC & Indie Games Show 2013

0

rezzedIn its second year, the Rezzed game show is still somewhat of a ‘cosy’ gathering.  Covering half of one of the Birmingham NEC show halls, it’s not on the scale of the show organised by the same folk at EuroGamer Expo. Rezzed caters for the PC game sector showcasing some of the latest titles about to hit our shelves as well as Indie games from smaller studios.  There was a great showing from UK-based developers so read on for some of the games we got hands-on with!

Head-Fi London Meet

0

headfiLast weekend I had the opportunity to hit Capitol City for the weekend. I got so see the sights and sample the night-life of London but the main reason for the visit was to attend the Head-Fi.org meet-up. Head-Fi is a forum for people that not just love music, but love listening to it using high quality equipment. It is all about a good pair of cans paired with a sexy source to pipe the tunes through.

Upon deciding to go along to the meet, I wasn’t quite sure of what to expect. There could have been only ten people turn up, or two hundred. I had not seen any feedback from prior events, but decided that it would at least be a good excuse for a short break.

Gadget Show Live 2013

gsl2013The Gadget Show Live has once again returned to Birmingham and is now, in it’s 5th year is becoming a staple of the UK’s yearly technology show diary.  It’s by far the most consumer-focused and plays host to both manufacturers showing off their latest wares as well as a host of retailers with huge range of gadgetry to check out and buy, including more mobile phone and tablet accessories than you can shake a (USB) stick at.

Sound & Vision: The Bristol Show 2013

0

bsavshowOn Sunday 24th of February I travelled down to Bristol to have a look at many things I can’t afford, and many things I wish I could – also known as Sound & Vision: The Bristol Show.  Hosted by What Hi-Fi magazine and the audio specialist retailer Audio-T the show promised to be a wealthy selection of the greatest audio and video tech available today.  Luckily I wasn’t disappointed.

Gadget Show Live 2011 – Our Highlights

1

This week the Birmingham NEC played host to the 3rd Gadget Show Live exhibition.  The show was expanded this year with a much larger gaming hall and proper food facilities meaning not so many of the horrendous lines as there was last year!

The crowd also welcomed the return of the ‘Super Theatre’ Live show where the well known faces of the Channel 5 show came out to emulate the capers of their television series and please the crowd…

HTC London Meetup – Photo Blog

1

HTC announced it was to be holding a ‘Sensational’ gathering on April 12th, hinting at a launch of the much anticipated HTC Sensation with a 1.2ghz dual core and Android 2.3.

Lucky enough to have the day to myself, I decided to take a trip down the A40 from Cheltenham to London to see what kind of show HTC would put on for its Facebook and Twitter followers. I totally over-compensated for time and ended up arriving rather early, but fortunately there were already people queuing at the side entrance to the Bloomsbury Ballroom. I’m not one for pictures of people queuing, but there was plenty of things going on inside to get the senses going….
